Ascent Trip Report

Malapai (3X/4th List), Lost Horse (26F)(6X)
Originally scheduled was Onyx #1. Weather forced to change destination. Co-leader was Mars Bonfire. Joining us was George Christiansen. Did Malapai first. Just George and myself. Mars decided to just go around the south end and meet up with us. This time didn’t head for the saddle, just straight for the peak. It was a little harder, but it worked. When heading for Lost Horse, headed back to saddle then down the west side. It might work to go straight from the summit. For Lost Horse, crossed the 2 miles of desert floor, heading for the ridge with some grey rocks on it. This ridge worked out real well. Came out at where the primary route comes up to the saddle.. From there, just a short distance to top. At the top, because I was dealing with a cold, Mars went back to the car alone and George and I went out the primary route.
