Ascent Trip ReportSeems like most people hike from the trailhead on 16N52 (the dirt road that continues past the turn up the hill to Martis Pk). You may notice on the map that there's an unmaintained dirt road, 16N54, which will get you to within 1/3 mi of the highpoint, cutting off 4 or 5 miles of hiking. You may consider attempting this short cut.
If you do, you're absolutely going to need high clearance 4WD. Even then, it's a nail-biter. I dropped my KLR650 twice, damaging the brake lever and one of the side cases, and gave myself a twisted ankle. Good thing the hike was so short.
