Ascent Trip ReportAfter months of preperation, we were there, ready to go. Unfortunately, El Nino had other plans for us, and after repeated storms and a significant ass-kicking, we finally pulled the plug after 12 days. The group made it as far as 13,800 for a cache, but it was decided we would retreat. Ok, so the stats that month were 4% summit rate, when it should have been 50%. Turns out that June was the month, as the El nino effect abated and rates returned to 50%. But the truth was we carried way too much and did not get along as a group. |
