Ascent Trip ReportOkay...this one is tricky. It would be great if someone else goes out there and wants to verify. This State Park is on a long stretch of sand in which the Navy owns some of it. Looking at the CalTopo, the contour line of 10 feet encloses the area near highway 75 (which is the way in, either from the south or north). The spot I found was on the east side of 75 next to a housing development. I parked just short of this development and found State Park signs. I thought the mounds of vegetation would be the highpoints...but alas, they are big bushes growing from ground level. So the spot is straight east from the where you park...just the high ground you see. There are numerous mini sand dunes further south and on the west side of 75. According to Delorme and CalTopo, the land rises ever so slightly to the north. The sand dunes change constantly.
