Ascent Trip Report

I contacted SFC Charles LaFlame four weeks before this hike to get access to the hill.

SFC Charles LaFlame
Plans & Training

I left him a message in the morning and he called me back in the afternoon. He then emailed me 3 documents to complete and asked for the day I would like to hike the hill. We agreed on the third or fourth Saturday in September. I completed the documents that week, scanned them, and sent them back to him. When completing the documents I choose Saturday September 20th as the date.
On Friday September 19th SFC LaFlame emailed me to confirm the timing for my arrived on the base.
I drove down to the cape and to the front gate of the base. I had my family with me (Peishan, Evey, Wolfgang, and Sugar). I showed my ID at the front gate and told them I was there to meet SFC LaFlame. The let me through to the day pass gate where SFC LaFlame was waiting for me. We did our introduction and then went into the small visitor pass house to complete the paperwork. They needed by Driver License and the car registration. I then followed SFC LaFlame to the hill. We parked and within 5 minutes we were on top of the hill. There are no views from the top. as it is totally wooded.

SFC LaFlame was very nice and we have some great conversation. We took pictures and made out way back down to the car. This was the 12th MA high point for Wolfgang and me. For Peishan and Evey it was their 7th. We had a great time. We then got back in our car and followed SFC LaFlame back to the gate. It was a very easy trip and the upfront paperwork was easy to complete.
Overall the hike up the hike is about a little less than 100 meters long with very little evaluation gain. There is a BM marking the peak.
