Ascent Trip Report

Easy ascent from East on ski access road, from Panagia, road from N40.89776 E24.24332 signposted Paggaio ski centre, R at T junction N40.90507 E24.23587 then follow road, mostly paved but a few rough spots, ok in 2wd with care. Paved road ends at N40.91177 E24.10569, 1628m, just short of ski buildings. We park here and walk. The road continues unpaved, sharp L, rough and steep for a while, would be driveable in high clearance 4wd.

It's an easy 3.4km, the road stopping at a comms mast just below the summit which is easily reached via the old fenceline (no fence).

Summit marked by a small trig pillar, interesting (to trig baggers) in that the triangulated point, a cross mark scribed into a circular metal disc in a concrete block, is visible beneath the pillar. It rains during ascent but dry at summit, partly cloudy with a rainbow; views to a nearby summit but nothing distant. After a short break we head back down the road. A nice easy summit after the intricacies of yesterday's Athos adventure.

Rest of afternoon is spent driving East to Alexandropouli for a Fengari ascent next day.
