Ascent Trip ReportGot up early with Dave and drove out near San Lorenzo Canyon. We parked on the side of the gravel road about mile past the turn towards the canyon and started hiking south. Past through a ranch and followed drainages for the first couple miles.
We then ascended a prominent N-S ridge and followed the ridgeline. We hit a small summit (~150 ft prom) before crossing a drainage and climbing Polvadera via the NE face.
Nice day with Spectacular views of the Manzanos, Ladrones, Maggies, Chupaderas, and the local Socorro Peaks. Registry was full of water and the logbook was absolutely soaked. Looks like Danny might have to put up a new one!
Descended by taking a NS ridge one drainage to the east of where we ascended. Then got in a prominent drainage and followed this most of the way back to the road. Some nice semi-canyoneering following the large drainage on the way out. |
