Ascent Trip Report

Elbrus preparation hike, 3rd time on Grays. I tagged along with some CMCers who are climbing Rainier in early July. We climbed up the Lost Rat Couloir, then over to the summit. There was a mountain goat hanging around the top of the couloir. There was still plenty of snow in the couloir, despite it being a very dry winter that year. The group split up at the summit. I did not go for Torreys. We returned via the Grays Peak Trail. Lots and lots of hikers on a beautiful day.
