Ascent Trip Report

This was an awesome hike on a rocky but well maintained trail up to Chimney Pond. From there, we took the Cathedral Trail which was a steep boulder hop, gaining about 2000ft up to the summit. There were about 20 other people on the peak, including several who had just completed the Appalachian Trail. The mood was extremely positive and we took our time and rested for about an hour before leaving. We traversed over to the south peak then across the knife edge to Chimney Peak and then Pamola Peak. We descended via the Helon Taylor Trail which was slow class 2 the majority of the way. Awesome day with incredible views that were a huge contrast from the desert peaks I'm used to.
