Ascent Trip ReportI started out from Winfield on the North Ridge route (route 12.2 in Roach's guidebook), but instead of going east into Lulu Gulch, I continued south into the Banker Mine drainage, for my Trails Illustrated map shows a primitive trail continuing on to the main Huron Peak trail. What a mistake! The jeep trail peters out, so I had to climb directly up the hill and over to Browns Peak. Then I traversed over to Huron and then headed back down via the standard route. It was a very tiring day, but what the hell, it builds character and all that.
