Ascent Trip ReportStandard approach from park HQ. Trail is relentless, rocky, and muddy, but easy to,follow to marker 45 on the crater rim. The true summit is an easy 25 minute scramble from there. Wife had some major foot problems on the way back (Boots not fully broken in...), so the descent was a slog. Cold beers at the TH were delicious and only €1.20. Weather was alternately sunny, foggy, and rainy, sometimes within minutes. |
