Ascent Trip ReportDirections from the south end of Adirondacks Park- follow rte 29A north out of Gloversville NY, at Caroga Lake village rte 29A joins up with rte 10. Continue north on rte 29A/10 to Green Lake, immediately after this lake make a right on Green Lake road to a faint fork junction. Make a left on the narrow dirt road to the TH.
This is my 19th "Fire Tower Challenge" and by far the easiest and shortest climb. The summit is wooded with limited views, however the Fire Tower is open. The colours were just about at their peak, unfortunately I didn't have a full sun. The Fire Warden's cabin is in bad shape and not restored. Great hike for young kids.
