Ascent Trip Reportabsolutely gorgeous hike. a personal favorite. blood pumping on descent on goat trail. The guidebook i had (i believe 2nd edition of acadia hiking book) did not mention there were actually two trails up. There is a 3rd edition out curious if its in there. At the PA, the left is a longer, more pleasant approach that hikes along the reservoir, vs the steep and short 'goat' trail to the right. i took the longer trail up and up the norumbega trail at the junction near the reservoir building. Aside from a rooty start, the entire trail was breathtaking. Gorgeous streams, all kinds of moss and lichen, the ridge walk was very expansive and bare rock, and beautiful views of the sound. This is a must do hike if visiting acadia.
