Ascent Trip Report

There had been a lot of rain and snow during the previous two weeks so when we arrived in Zermatt we were told that there would be a very slim chance of a successful summit as the mountain had not been climbed for some time. Undeterred, we stuck to our plan of acclimatization on the Breithorn and then set of for the Monte Rosa Hut. We met with our Guide at 02.30am and headed off into the darkness. After a long snow plod we reached to fixed ropes and finally summited at 09.30am.
