Ascent Trip Report“Larsen Peak” is the unofficial name for the HP of Golden Gate Heights Park. According to Adah Bakalinsky’s “Stairway Walks in San Francisco,” Carl E. Larsen, a Danish restaurateur and local resident, donated land to the city for the Park. A paved pathway winds uphill through the park's shaded forest, which borders tennis courts and a playground along the 12th Ave cul-de-sac. A virtual drive-up. None of the fine views you get from nearby Grand View Park. My approach: S on 10th Ave, R on Pacheco St, L on 12th Ave to the signed park entrance on Rockridge Dr. |
