Ascent Trip ReportSuccessful solo attempt. Slept in my car at the base of the old Perry Road turnoff, and started hiking the abandoned trail at 6:45AM. The abandoned road approach starts at 1940ft, and has one fork before merging with the new trail (you want to take a left at the fork). Made reasonable time in my running shoes to the waterfall around 8:00AM, and hit the meadows by around 9:45. Snow started at 4900ft.
The hardest part of the climb, and my only moderate routefinding difficulty, was dropping from the meadow across the shoulder to the base of the climb; you want to stay close to the ridgeline, as dropping over to skier's right instead leads to cliffs and I had to re-ascend.
The scramble section was all just a semi-steep snowfield, with safe runout. Traversing the slopes on the approach of the climb was actually the hardest part as there was some exposed sections and hard snow.
Made the summit around 11:45AM; stayed for an hour, then was back to the car at 4:00PM.
I've now attempted via both the old trail and the new trail; the old trail is a bit faster (saving maybe 1 mile round-trip), and doesn't require a NW Forest Pass but also doesn't have a bathroom.
