Ascent Trip ReportI decided to bag Equinox on a drive between Troy, NY and Burlington, VT. I started at the parking lot on West Union street in Manchester and booked it up the Blue Summit trail. The lower half of the trail is really a gravel road, but it's a pretty steep grade and definitely reminded me that I had completed the Great Range in NY not 2 days before. The second half of the trail is more what you'd expect. Overall, you're gaining about 2700' over 3 or so miles, so it's a pretty good climb!
Nice views at the visitor center on top, but I didn't linger to enjoy them, since I had to rush up north for dinner! I managed this trip in a little under 2 hours. |
