Ascent Trip ReportRoad in good shape but I was told it is gated part of the year at Evergreen Creek. FS 6554 is narrow and I was glad that I didn't meet anyone in a bad spot. I had to stop 3 times on the way in and beep the horn to shoo baby grouse out of the way. FS 6550 is permanently blocked at Bullbucker Creek and can only be accessed from the Jack Pass end.
NWFP not required but you are asked to fill out a wilderness permit at the TH. We walked over pt 5200+ to avoid steep snow patches lingering on the trail. The top of the mountain was all snow but not difficult.
Hiked with "Larry" who was just out for a drive and decided to tag along.
