Ascent Trip Report

Wanting to see the old park I grew up with as a kid, and many years later, I had forgotten how beautiful this park is. I parked my car and went down and touched water (Tampa Bay). The water quality is so much better than when I used to fish there back in the 70s. There are huge live oaks and thick oak hammocks that are beautiful in the park. It is unusual this far south in FL to have any topographic relief at all so hiking up to the Park's HP was fun and provided nice views of the Bay. I hiked over to the shell midden and again walked down and touched water and up the Indian mound. Then back to the car. The map function shows the actual park boundary better than the topo view.
