|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Weston County High Point|
| Location:||USA-South Dakota/Wyoming|
| Elevation:||6620 ft / 2017 m|
Ascent Trip ReportParked G6 on N side of USFS Road No. 109 in South Dakota just E of Wyoming border. (Road is No. 809 on Wyoming side of border.) Crossed cattle guard into Wyoming and followed fence on state line S about 3/8 mile to high point. There are actually two small ridges coming down from SD quite close together which might be the actual Weston County High Point. The N ridge had a USFS boundary marker on the South Dakota side of the state line fence. The N ridge continued fairly level for another 100 feet or so W into Wyoming with some limestone outcroppings less than 10 feet tall at the end of it. The S ridge had been clear cut on the Wyoming side of the line and had a small limestone outcropping on the S side right at the border. The S ridge continued to lose elevation as it headed into Wyoming.
The views here were only of the nearby forest. A T-storm approaching from the W encouraged Lupe to head into South Dakota to bag Peak 6645 very nearby to the NE without delay.
