Started as a rainy morning then it got clearer and warmer, much warmer, up in 70s. The Davis Path trail started clear and dry.
First we crossed the Saco River, over the suspension bridge and walked through some private land and then entered the WMNF. The trail climbed a series of switchbacks up to the steep col between Mt Crawford and Mt Hope. We descended a bit then climbed to the junction of the Parker Trail. There was a significant amount of ice and snow on the trail starting before the junction to the Mt Crawford spur. Snow was deep enough to posthole thigh high in places.
We passed the Stairs Col trail and continued to follow the Davis Path up to the short spur to the flat open view spot on the ledges of Stairs Mountain.
