Ascent Trip Report

Nice snow hike up the ridge between snowstorms. We drove the Plush cutoff road to McDowell Creek Road, and then on to a clearing at 6500 feet where conditions became too muddy to drive any further. From there we walked a rough 4x4 track to the base of the peak and then a direct ascent up the northeast ridge. The previous evenings blizzard left fresh snow for the entire ascent, around 1" at base and several inches up top, great hiking conditions!

I lost my wallet on this hike, thanks to a backpack pocket working its way open while making the descent. I was fully prepared to leave it behind not really being interested in backtracking and looking for it, however Troy rallied me into at least making a small effort to look for it. Thankfully I stumbled across it about a mile and half from the car. Thanks to Troy for his never say die attitude.
