Ascent Trip ReportFrom the Corkscrew road sign, I parked my car and found a trail that eventually takes a right sweep up through a wash. It is well cairned. The wash becomes more defined the further you go up and not far into the deep wash will be two cairns and a row of rocks indicating to turn left. This will take you up and out of the wash and up on the ridge and eventually to the top. I, of course, missed the left turn and continued on up the wash for a bit and then worked my way out of steep section to get on top. I followed a ridge and then made my way over to the main trial and then up to the summit. This was a solo hike and no one else was around. I could see Telescope in the far distant, cold and snow covered. This is where I’m headed next. |
