Ascent Trip ReportStarted on Virginia Lake Roads. I was lucky because the snow closure was way up at 9600'. I snowshoed up the road and then to Blue Lake, Moat Lake, and then put on crampons and went up the steeper hill from there. About 800' below the summit it was more rubble than snow and the snow had softened; so the crampons came off and it was just a slow picking my way through the rubble and snow patches being careful not to fall down the hill. A lot faster on the way out a bit of rubble on top and then plunge step down to Moat Lake where the snowshoes went on stayed on the rest of the way out. About 6 miles with 2800' gain - it took me a long time to get to the top once I hit the rubble.
