Ascent Trip ReportFantastically huge mountain. Hiked to Virginia Falls, crossed the footbridge and located a flagged game trail leading uphill. Followed this trail and a series of elk trails up and above tree line, where we made our way uphill and across a large drainages. Headed up scree slopes from there, and fortunate to find an easy Class III break through a prominent band of algal reef. Utilized a series of high goat trails to traverse for what seemed like forever across the west face of the mountain until encountering a loose class II gully. Ascended the gully to just beneath the ridge line, where we easily made it to the summit in a matter of minutes. Very windy on top, so we did not linger for long.
