Ascent Trip Report

We started off the day with a hike up Mt. Arab to see the sunrise from the summit, something neither of us had done yet. The hike up Mt. Arab is a nice steady climb with 700' of gain over1 mile. Compared to the day before where it was just below zero at the TH, it was warm today - a balmy 21 degrees! We arrived early and started out in the dark but we had enough light to hike without headlamps about 0.5 miles in. Once at the summit you could feel the wind pick up a bit and as we climbed the tower it became very strong (and cold). The views of the sunrise over the High Peaks was incredible and well worth the early morning rise and hike.
