Ascent Trip ReportVisibility this day was fantastic with no clouds in sight in any direction. There were many interesting wildflowers in bloom. The Cape vultures were out in high number. Didn't see any Kilpspringer but did see dassie and Gurney's sugarbird, Cape Holly and Mountain Cypress (Widdringtonia). The protea had some perfect blooms.
This day I went past the peak to the slot between the high peak section and the last, western-most, section of the ridge. The breeze and views from here were great, and a perfect place for lunch on large rocks under arching trees; highly recommended. If you are with rock climbers, with some good bouldering you could climb up onto the last ridge section. Just note that walking on the north side of the ridge will get you past a deep ravine between the smaller-tower section and the high peak section, and will help you avoid lots of needless gain and loss, although it can be harder to navigate.
