Ascent Trip Report

Artski and I drove up on our motorcycles to the Buck Hill base area right off I-35. We had just watched the Kentucky Derby with Greg and Dan at Dan's place in Minneapolis the day before and we were headed home for Mother's Day via Northfield to stop and visit Siemers. We had a little trouble getting off at the correct interstate exit, even though the hill is in plain view. Once in the parking lot we hiked up the grassy slope of Milk Run to the top of Chair 4. There was a plastic benchmark there. Great views of the Twin Cities and the stormy skies. If I recall there was still a little bit of snow where the terrain park/half pipe used to be. According to the county's website and its 10', 2', and 1' contours, Buck Hill is 1210'-1211' and the southern point is 1189'-1190', so we did not visit it.
