Ascent Trip Report

Hiked to top during Phoenix-Tres Rios Christmas Bird Count. One of the people with me lugged a scope with him up this thing, a bit of a feat considering we had come from the river's edge. The trails here are very rudimentary and hardly maintained at all and there might be some very minor scrambling needed to attempt the true summit -- the view from here over the West Valley is pretty great, and this may be a good spot for hawkwatching during migration.

Strangely, elevation at the top of this peak actually lies below the baseline height of much of the East Valley!
