Ascent Trip ReportMt. Willey, Field and Tom Today Dad and I will hike in south to north over Mts. Willey, Field and Tom. Mom dropped us off at the Ethan Pond Trailhead at 10:25am, she’ll drive up to the Highland Center and then start hiking up the Avalon / A-Z trails and hopefully we will meet somewhere by Mt. Tom. Today is a clear day and when we left the car it was 80 degrees. The Ethan Pond trail starts out pretty easy, nothing too steep. Just past the Kendron Flume Trail, it gets pretty steep, with many sets of steep stairs. The outlook on Wiley was very full, so me and Dad had lunch on a rock just past the summit on the north side. We reached the top of Mt. Willey at 12:30 and after some lunch we headed on at 12:45. The hike over to Field was pretty easy, got there about 1:25. The summit wasn’t as busy as Willey so we got in a few pics and then continued on the Mt. Tom to meet up with Mom. We got to the summit of Mt. Tom at 2:20pm, Mom was there to meet us! Since there are no views from here we took a summit picture and headed down to the car. We all got back to the car at 4:10pm.
