Ascent Trip ReportPeak # 1 of 3 on a Plan B day in the Angeles National Forrest, including Lewis-Williamson-Waterman (start of Hunting Season in CA prevented us from safely hiking our original peaks of Monument, Cajon, Bailey, and Sugarpine_.
Pieced together a quick series of hikes along the Angeles Crest Highway from the 15 - in order to still have a great day of hiking, but also nab a few HPS peaks for me (yea!). Total stats from the day (including the previous 5 miles on dirt roads until getting warned by hunters) = 18.5 miles, approx 4400 feet of gain.
Lewis - Parked just off the highway near a shed, and made a quick assault of a use trail. Steep but fast ascent to a top carin. No register - and quick hike down. Total trip time was approx 20 minutes. Good start! Peak # 85 on my HPS list!
