Ascent Trip ReportOriginally was going to hike a 25-27 mile RT route with Christine, to reach my 85-88 HPS Peaks.... Monument, Bailey, Cajon, and Sugarpipe - however, the start of Hunting Season in SOCal and the warning from hunters while we were hiking up the road, prompted us to make a quick turn around. We had seen a lot of SUV-type vehicles that were parked on random spots on the road, but couldn't figure out what they were for. Oh well. We reached the 2.5 mile mark and were given the friendly warning - and decided to turn around and head to a more hiker-friendly and populated area. Given the remoteness of the road and the fact that it was a holiday weekend, we made the right call. Instead we pieced together a quick hiking plan, and headed over to the Angeles National Forrest and were able to hike to Lewis, Williamson, and Waterman Peaks. Nice day!
