Ascent Trip Report

Blue - Spaniard's Knob - Horsetrough peakbagging trip:

I hit Spaniard's Knob from the East side coming from Blue Mountain and Unicoi gap. I left the AT at a clearing with a big fire pit and basically charged straight up into the saddle between the north and south peaks. It was pretty steep with a lot of rocks and loose soil, but very little undergrowth. I veered off track a bit and hit the south summit, which was very overgrown and had lots of briers. I traversed the saddle and hit the north summit, which was far more open. To get back to the AT, I dove off of the north side of the mountain and quickly met the trail. The descent was much like the ascent, pretty clear with lots of loose rocks and soil, and pretty steep to boot, so try not to bite it when you go flying down!
