Ascent Trip ReportOnce we had climbed Algonquin for the second time, we really took in the views with the sky clear now, before heading over to Iroquois. The 1.1 mile hike was not very challenging or strenuous at all. We made it down to the col between Algonquin and Boundary with little problem, and then knew where we were headed on the well kept "unmaintained" trail, equipped with foot bridges and all. There were muddy sections on either side of Boundary, but it really was a pretty quick and painless hike. I actually exclaimed when we got to the top of Iroquois, "Was that it?" We talked earlier about the possibility of continuing on past Iroquois, down into Cold Brook pass, to continue on to bag Marshall as well. Upon looking down into Cold Brook pass, I actually burst out laughing, and we agreed there was no way that we would be bushwhacking down that cliff. Marshall would have to wait until Thursday as originally planned. We headed back to the col and then down the very steep 2+ miles back to Lake Colden.
