Ascent Trip Report

Limited on time, I opted to take the Auto Toll Road to the summit. The cost was $26. I was the only car on the road and the first to the summit that day which made for a pleasant drive. Upon reaching the parking lot I hiked the few flights of stairs, meandered around the observatory, checked out the gift store, toured the Top House, watched the Cog Train work it's way up the mountain, and finally walked up to the summit where I snapped a few photos before heading off to Katahdin.

The weather, which is notoriously bad/windy, was calm and clear. It made for beautiful views but I can't deny that I was hoping for some serious wind.
