It is a total of 6.3 miles from Hwy. 200.
This trail is rated as one of the most difficult Class 1 trails in Idaho. It is very steep in places, with a cumulative elevation gain of 3729' over the 4.2 mile trail to the top. There is sure to be NO water sources on the trail so pack appropriately. This is a popular and well maintained trail, we saw about 10 others making the ascent the same day. On top of the rugged peak there are excellent views of the surrounding mountains, including Scotchman #2, and goat mountain. Although we never saw them, there is known to be Mountain goats near the top.
