Ascent Trip Report

Peak #4 of 4

Nate's final SOTA peak of the day. Took the summit post route - parked on the western end of the mountain off Anderson Road, just past the water towers. I think there was a shooting range nearby, just because we could hear a lot of live fire. .3 miles after the water tower, we parked at a turn out and found the use trail on the right side of the road.

Very straightforward - just straight up.... slightly under 1,000 feet per mile, so it was a stinger of a hike. Very rocky - but the views opened up! No switchbacks - just up up up. On the summit just under an hour after starting - the final .25 miles on the ridge were BEAUTIFUL - great views of the entire area. Nate did is radio work for an hour, and then we descended.... about 40 minutes for the descent - definitely watched the footing, but it was still fun.

After hiking 4 peaks with 13.2 miles RT and 3600 feet of gain for the day, we decided to head to Alpine Beer Co. Yea!
