Ascent Trip ReportPeak #2 of 4.
Hiked to Stonewall with Nate, and while he was on the summit doing his SOTA radio work, I made my way to Little Stonewall. There was a duck on the side of the trail marking the turn off and I manged to make my way after a few failed attempts through the manzanita, buckthorn and scrub brush. First routes involved heading straight towards the peak and then trying to cut south. On my third look-around, I picked a north approach - there was more manzanita - but it was all at hip height, instead of towering over me (buckthorn). Carefully picked my way to the summit block - couldn't climb the prominent rocks, but had a good look around Nice to see this peak and the surrounding area. Could see lots of people atop Stonewall. Retraced my route (carefully) back to the trail and made my way back to Stonewall.
After wards, we hiked Oakzanita and Viejas before having beer and dinner at Alpine Beer Co - nice!
