Ascent Trip Report

Hiked with Christine Soskins - part of a 2-day hiking weekend in the Eastern Sierras. Langley on Saturday and Whitney on Sunday - phew!

Started out at 5:15 am from the Horseshoe Meadows TH. Hiked up New Army Pass and then up to Langley. Time up was approx 5 hours.... maybe 5:10? Steady progress up - felt the altitude a bit & the final pitch was more sandy... not uber difficult, but definitely felt the slide with each step up. Spent a few minutes at the top and then had a quick turn around. Made good time on the descent and headed down Army Pass and back to the TH. Total time was 9:13 hiking, 21 miles and 4655 feet gain. GREAT day and one heckuva crazy warm-up for Whitney. Yeah!
