Ascent Trip ReportI really enjoyed this hike. I had been expecting some kind of walk on a bunch of logging roads, but it was much nicer than this. Arrived approximately 7 am, and found the trail to be a bit more rugged than I expected, very rocky. First two miles are also quite flat. You pass through a couple boggy areas and then get to Whale Lake, which was pretty, with just a touch of fall coloring some of the trees in the hills behind it. Then the trail forks off and starts climbing, and you reach a bluff that actually has some nice views, not too far from the actual highpoint. The actual peak is just a plaque on a rock, with no view in the middle of a wooded area.
