Ascent Trip Report

TH at 10am, weather a little cloudy but ended up clearing up. Reached the notch at about 12:30, and started climbing around 1:30? I lead pitch 1 and 3, James lead pitch 2 and 4. Pitch 1 is pretty straight forward, 2 has the crux start, an awkward chimney, don't get sucked too far in. Get your left foot on the ledge as soon as you can. Pitch 3 has the finger tip traverse, which was a little wet, and some lieback moves, I sewed it up with cams every few feet, which made me feel nice and safe but created some major rope drag once I turned the corner. Pitch 4 starts with the bouldering move, which isn't protectable but also isn't really that bad. Made the summit around 5ish. Saw a goat standing on the summit of South Early. Rappel or down climb the final pitch, and then scramble down to the vegetated ledge on the south. Rappel chains are on a kind of exposed rock face. A double rope rappel gets you back to the notch. Rope got stuck about 3 times during the rappel, would recommend using saddle bags. Rock dried out pretty well after a big storm the day before, only a couple of wet spots.
