By car from Sydney to Thredbo (6 hours!) with an unplanned break due to misinterpretation (at least according to the policemen) of the speed limit signs.
Then by cable car to the starting point.
In summer it might be a nice walk on maintained trails. At this time in winter it became one of the most unpleasant hikes I have ever done. Strong wind (70 km/h during the ascent, 98 km/h at the summit) from the front, rain, snow on the ground everywhere and nearly no visibility.
I would have been lost without a guide. It took us 3.5 hours from the cable car to the summit and return. |
