Ascent Trip Report

The first state highpoint of our Washington DC, Fallingwater, East Coast Highpoints tour, although we'd climbed the mighty Point Reno the day before.

Parked on Turf Drive (the entrance road to the mobile home park) and walked to the benchmark next to the cut-away sidewalk on Ebright Road before taking photos of each other by the official highpoint sign with convenient bench for weary travellers. We then visited the marked 450 ft contour area in the park, including Alpha Drive, Sulky Road and South Ellis Road, to ensure we’d ‘done' Delaware. However, as commented on by others the area is so heavily landscaped that it's probably impossible to know where the true natural summit of Delaware is/was.

No sign of famous highpoint custodian Doreen Kupchick in Sturbridge Drive but I didn't want to ring her doorbell and disturb her so early on a Sunday morning.
