Ascent Trip ReportBased on an online blog, we started out on Volunteer's Walk, very nice trail. We then used Piper's Walk. A lot of switchbacks, a lot of work went into this trail, many, many stones used to create stairs. As it was so windy, there were times you had to be very careful that the wind didn't take you. After reaching the top, we decided that returning by the same way was not in our best interest. We decided to go down by way of the walk with the chain rail and head for St. Anthony's Chapel (ruin). This would have also been a much better way of going up. There are many, many paths, some gravel, some grass. A lot of these paths don't show on the trail map. The 360 degree views of the area are incredible, better than you can see from the Edinburgh Castle.
