Ascent Trip ReportEric and I drove up in his Xterra, expecting to meet Larry who was coming in from Reno around 11:00AM. Turned out Larry got anxious and started the hike from the main dirt road around 7:00AM, but left us a note on his vehicle. Eric managed to drive up the very steep dirt road that lead up into the summit ridge (not the main road), which proved to be the crux of the whole outing.
From there it was a little road, then some steep open country hiking amid the hot and humid forest that had Eric piling snow from occasional drifts under his hat to keep cool. We struggled with the heat, but were fine on the descent, which went much faster.
Good view from the top!
Moving time was 1 hour 21 minutes up; 1 hour, 4 minutes down.
