Ascent Trip ReportA beautiful bushwack amid Laurel's in full bloom ..... .9 miles, 40 minutes RT.
I used the route in M Schwartz's TR of 2000. which still applies.
From my parking at the Pipe Line right-of-way on Hwy #144 (3.5 miles north of the Centre/Clinton County Line or 14 miles south of the #144/120 junction north of the Susquehanna River in Renovo) I walked the right-of-way northerly 550 yards to the height-of-land at an orange/white post marker.
Just beyond on the right I picked-up/followed a grass track that winds/heads easterly, at a short distance I left the track and bushwacked/zig-zagged easterly looking for high ground, eventually choosing a spot at GPS 41.21014,-77.83546, nothing obvious. I probably went about 150-200 yards east with the total wack being 400 yards.
The whole area is young woods with a waist high carpet of brush and beautiful/outstanding Mountain Laurels, practically in full bloom, some animal trails eases the way. I couldn't have picked a better time, I loved this wack.
"HAPPINESS, I HAVE DISCOVERED, IS THE RESULT OF A HIKE AMID WILD FLOWERS."
