Ascent Trip Report

There are 2 Candidate High Point Areas for this County, I went to both, taking me 3 1/2 hours to complete, including the long drive between areas.

AREA NORTHWEST OF BROCKWAY .... 4.5 miles, 1h45 hours RT
The driving/hiking directions in M Schwartz TR of 2000, clarified by Fred Lobdell's TR of 2008 is all one needs to get to the high ground area, so no need to repeat.
After walking/checking-out the whole length of east-west 2160 foot contour, and the grass track southbound on the southeast lobe (as suggested by M Schwartz in his second TR dated 2010), I concluded that there are only 2 areas with contending high ground:
1) ... at the WEST END of the east-west contour and
2) ... at the SOUTH END of the southeast lobe.
WEST END HP..... beautiful fairly open woods, I chose my "somewhat obvious" spot, 30 yards east of the Gas Line Post, at the big tree beside the right (south) side of the road, GPS 41.30544,-78.84789.
SOUTH END HP ..... the grass track southbound (per above) is about 250+ yards east of my West End HP. This southbound track dead-ends at about 200+ yards at an old gas line with a strong smell of gas.
My chosen high ground is just before the dead-end to the right (west) side of the track, inside the very dense brush. Impossible to find "the spot". After stomping/fighting my way around I put the HP in the area of GPS 41.30450,-78.84400.

USGS BM JEFF ... a drive up.
I once again followed Michael, I touched the high spots and have nothing to add, except to say, that with all of the mining work, one wonders what is natural here ???.
