Ascent Trip ReportPeak #4
After Pacifico, Hillyier, Mooney, it was Vetter -
The road was actually closed, so we ended up hiking the full 1.9 miles up to the lookout point. Easy road walk and the last .7 miles were dirt. Wide road - easy terrain. The MOST AWESOME bit were the volunteers for the Forrest Service Fire Watch at the top. Very hot day - but they were watching for signs of smoke and fires breaking out. They taught us all about the lookout tower and explained how to use the Osborne Fire Finder - fastcinating. After a quick view from the top (BEST views of the Angeles Ntl Forrest) and phenominal breeze - we were quickly back the 1.9 miles to the th and cars, and off for our final peak - Sally.
