Ascent Trip ReportNice day spent with Nate in the Lagunas doing one of our favorite loops. Wore backpacks to train for our upcoming Trans Catalina Trail hikes. Parked just outside of the TH area and hiked Sunset Trail to the Big Laguna Meadow. Saw a beautiufl red/black/yellow snake en route (the non venemous kind) and heard from a Boy Scout leader that they saw a giant rattlesnake on the trail just before hitting the Laguna Meadow Trail. Conditions were definitely warm - but not overly hot. We were cautious, but didn't see anything. Nice brisk hike back through the meadow to the car. Total hiking time for the loop was 2:40 without any stops - nice!
