Ascent Trip Report

Hike with Nathaniel in prep for the Trans Catalina Trail. Raced an 8k Ridge Run out in 29 Palms for the Naval Hospital, and on the way home to SoCal, we had planned to hike somewhere at altitude in the San Jac wilderness. After getting our self-issued permit, we hiked (with our packs!) from Humbler Park up the Devil's Slide Trail to Trail Junction. From there, it was a giant loop in the San Jacinto wilderness - skunk meadow and whatnot. Total miles hiked was approx 12. Nice day. Finished it off by taking a photography final exam (in my hiking clothes). Nothing like cutting it close (or studying in the car en route to the final). Overall, it was a great day!
